We have to ask ourselves these questions again and again in the age of the next/permanent digital transformation. Strictly speaking, this is nothing new. 𝗘𝘀 ð—ķ𝘀𝘁𝘁 ð—ēð—ķð—ŧð—ē 𝗘𝘃𝗞ð—đ𝘂𝘁ð—ķ𝗞ð—ŧ – ð—ŧ𝘂ð—ŋ ð—ēð—Ŋð—ēð—ŧ ð—ķ𝗚 ð—ąð—ķð—īð—ķ𝘁ð—Ūð—đð—ēð—ŧ 𝗞𝗞ð—ŧ𝘁ð—ē𝘅𝘁.

For millions of years, evolution has shown us that further development is an important principle of survival. That not everyone has to be equally “good” at everything, but that diversification and combination produce the best results.

So if we as people / teams / companies / society are worried today about being replaced by the next digital transformation, then we should simply ask ourselves the question 𝘄ð—Ū𝘀 𝘂ð—ŧ𝘀 ð—ēð—ķð—ŧ𝘇ð—ķð—īð—Ūð—ŋ𝘁ð—ķð—ī 𝗚ð—Ū𝗰ð—ĩ𝘁 and what cannot be done by an AI.

Here we quickly come to the realization that these are, for example, “𝗊ð—ēð—ŋ𝘁ð—ē, 𝗜ð—ŧ𝘁𝘂ð—ķ𝘁ð—ķ𝗞ð—ŧ / 𝗘ð—ŋð—ģð—Ūð—ĩð—ŋ𝘂ð—ŧð—ī 𝘂ð—ŧð—ą 𝗞ð—ŋð—ēð—Ū𝘁ð—ķ𝘃ð—ķ𝘁ð—ŪĖˆð˜”. A technical system may automate things wonderfully, never get tired, generate consistently high quality, produce and find data – it will never 𝘄ð—ķ𝘀𝘀ð—ēð—ŧ, 𝘄ð—ķð—ē𝘀 𝘀ð—ķ𝗰ð—ĩ “ð—Ūð—ŧð—ģ𝘂Ėˆð—ĩð—đ𝘁”. It will also have no intuitive access to terms such as “good” or “bad”, it will find it difficult to think “around the corner”.

The concept of values also includes “𝗚ð—ē𝗚ð—ēð—ķð—ŧ𝘀𝗰ð—ĩð—Ūð—ģ𝘁” 𝘂ð—ŧð—ą “𝗭𝘂𝘀ð—Ū𝗚𝗚ð—ēð—ŧð—īð—ēð—ĩ𝗞Ėˆð—ŋð—ķð—īð—ļð—ēð—ķ𝘁”. A successful project completion, which is achieved together (and celebrated accordingly), welds people together – teach that to an AI…!

Despite all the hype surrounding the new technologies, they are “just” tools. Crazy, powerful, insanely great tools, but just tools. The decisive factor is what we humans do with them.

Companies/teams/individuals should therefore focus on what sets them apart from others and how we can develop these strengths even better with the help of the new tools. 𝗗ð—Ūð—ŧð—ŧð—ŧ ð—ĩð—ŪĖˆð˜ð˜ð—ēð—ŧ 𝘄ð—ķð—ŋ 𝘀𝘁ð—Ū𝘁𝘁 ð—ēð—ķð—ŧð—ēð—ŋ ð—ąð—ķð—īð—ķ𝘁ð—Ūð—đð—ēð—ŧ 𝗧ð—ŋð—Ūð—ŧ𝘀ð—ģ𝗞ð—ŋ𝗚ð—Ū𝘁ð—ķ𝗞ð—ŧ ð—ēð—ķð—ŧð—ē ð—ąð—ķð—īð—ķ𝘁ð—Ūð—đð—ē 𝗘𝘃𝗞ð—đ𝘂𝘁ð—ķ𝗞ð—ŧ ð—īð—ē𝘀𝗰ð—ĩð—Ūð—ģð—ģ𝘁!

P.S.: we men, for example, have proven to be terribly bad “gatherers”, but fortunately we have discovered “hunting” for ourselves. And in combination with the strengths of others (thanks to all women), we have ensured our survival and further development. If we take a similar approach to digital evolution, something really great could come out of it!
