Experience must be valued more again!

I currently see young people everywhere who are positioning themselves as coaches, influencers, consultants and so on. That’s excellent and I encourage everyone to stand on their own two feet. I love learning from the younger generation about the challenges they are currently facing and the solutions they are finding.

At the same time, however, I also read many reports and experience more and more frequently in companies that people with an incredible amount of professional and life experience are almost “sorted out” because of their age.

The older you get, the more experience you have gained. The more problems you have solved and the more “bloody noses” you have picked up. They may be different “bloody noses” than the ones you should get today, but the effect is the same: learn, develop solutions, do “better” next time.

The exchange between people in their early 20s and people at the end of their professional careers is extremely fruitful. And I would recommend to all young coaches: get an experienced senior on board and combine “old-school” and “new-school”. It will be really cool!
